Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar stated that the clean sweep of the Independent group in the Pakistan Bar Council elections means that lawyers have rejected Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.
The Independent Group has secured a clear lead in the Pakistan Bar Council elections in Punjab, winning 11 seats.
According to Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, the Asma Jahangir Group won eight out of the 11 seats, while candidates from the Hamid Khan Group secured two seats.
The results for one seat are still pending.
Elected members of the Pakistan Bar Council include Salman Akram Raja and Shafqat Chauhan from the Hamid Khan Group, as well as Azam Nazir Tarar, Ahsan Bhawan, and Pir Masood Chishti from the Asma Jahangir Group. Additionally, Aamir Saeed Raan, Tahir Nasirullah Warich, Hafeez-ur-Rehman Chaudhry, Saqib Akram Gondal, and Syed Qalb Hassan have also been elected as members.
The final results will be announced on December 22.
