Former Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani has said that whoever tried to violate the constitution, lawyers resisted the illegal move.
He said in his address at the Asma Jahangir Conference via video link that bar associations have a long history and lawyers have always made efforts for the supremacy of the constitution and democracy.
Senior PPP leader Raza Rabbani said that lawyers also fought against the illegal move of Musharraf and Ayub.

He said that the Bar Association has never used political parties but the role of the current Bar Association leadership is not visible for civil supremacy.
Raza Rabbani said that statements keep coming but the leadership’s blunt stance is not coming out like in the past.
The former Senate Chairman said that many unnecessary amendments were made to the constitution and these constitutional amendments were made regarding the transfer of judges and appointment of judges.
He said that the number of judicial members in the Judicial Commission that was formed is less and it is unnecessary to have the Federal Law Minister in the Judicial Commission.
Raza Rabbani has also said that I believe that there is no need for further amendments to the constitution now, there is no need for the 28th constitutional amendment.
