MARDAN: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that the people of Mardan, scholars and lawyers played a historical role in the establishment of Pakistan, and even today, lawyers will have to unite and wage a constitutional and legal struggle to bring the country in the right direction.

‎Hafiz Naeem said that after the 26th Amendment, now an attempt is being made to bring the 27th Amendment, which is tantamount to playing with the Constitution. He revealed that the authorities sent a different draft to Maulana while the original was something else.

‎He said that democracy can flourish only when democracy is established within political parties.

‎The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami strongly criticized the judicial system, saying that 2.2 to 2.3 million cases are pending in the courts in the country, while 8 to 20 percent of cases have been pending in the higher courts for years.

‎He said that “Judges are appointed by the rulers at their own will, therefore the judiciary is not completely independent.”

‎Hafiz Naeem appealed to the legal community to unite against constitutional tampering, Jamaat-e-Islami stands with them.

‎He said that about 110 million people in the country are living below the poverty line, in such a situation, court expenses are beyond the reach of the people.

‎He said that “the judicial system does not need grafting but complete reforms, because no one is satisfied with the current system.”

‎The Jamaat-e-Islami Amir said that efforts are being made to create hatred between the provinces, while powers in the local government system have been given to the bureaucracy, which has further increased public problems.

‎He said that if the police and other departments were under the local government institutions, there could have been a positive change in the system.

‎He demanded that the conciliation and panchayat systems be given legal status so that daily cases can be reduced.

‎Hafiz Naeem said that “the state is the name of the people, not of any army chief or field marshal. Education is not charity but the fundamental right of every child.”

‎He said that the gap between the rich and the poor can be eliminated by introducing uniform education system.

‎He said that “more than 5 million children are deprived of education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while despite a budget of billions of rupees, schools are being outsourced — the question is, where is the budget going?”

‎He mentioned modern technology and said, “This is the era of AI, the government should have provided such facilities to the people for free, but unfortunately the system is neither providing education nor health to the people.”

‎The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami said that the economy is not going up but down due to inflation.

‎He raised the question, “Who gave General Bajwa’s extension? Everyone is united on the issue of the extension of the army chief. Whoever is with the establishment is considered good, whoever is against it is bad.”

‎He said, “One and a half thousand billion rupees are going to areas where electricity is not even generated, this is injustice.”

‎Hafiz Naeem announced that Jamaat-e-Islami has started a nationwide movement called “Badal Do Nizam” to end the country’s problems.

‎He said, “Jamaat-e-Islami has a complete map for changing the system of Pakistan, and we are taking practical steps to empower the youth.”
