The evacuation of the country largest Afghan refugee camp, Girdi Jungle, has been successfully completed, the demolition of abandoned structures now underway.

According to sources, the district administration of Chaghi, along with the Dalbandin Rifles, conducted operations to clear the camp located in Girdi Jungle, Chaghi district, Balochistan.

All Afghan refugees residing in the camp were formally registered and then sent back to Afghanistan.

After the refugees reptration, the authorities began the demolition of vacant homes and shops within the camp.

Footage has surfaced showing the ongoing destruction of these empty buildings. The operation to return all refugees was carried out in accordance with legal procedures.

The Girdi Jungle camp, once home to 70,000 Afghan refugees, has now been entirely cleared, with all residents successfully repatriated to Afghanistan.

Sources further indicate that as of November 26, 2025, similar operations have commenced at the Lajeh Afghan Refugee Camp. The district administration has confirmed that all actions are being executed in line with state policy, and following the evacuation of Lajeh, any illegal structures in the area will also be removed.

This marks a significant step in the governments efforts to address the situation of Afghan refugees in the region, in line with both domestic policies and international agreements.
