LANDI KOTAL: Landi Kotal police foiled an attempt to smuggle three Pakistani children and their mother to Afghanistan here in a transit camp.

Additional Station House Officer (SHO) Landi Kotal police station Irshad Shinwari said that the allegedly Afghan kidnappers along with the abductees were transported to Swabi for further investigation.

Nizamuddin, a resident of Swabi city and father of the kids while narrating the story, said that 12 years back, he married an Afghan national girl, Gul Meena who had been residing in Swabi for the last 14 years.

He had three children namely Shahab (09), Madiha ((08) and Eshal (06) and lived a happy and cheerful life.

After a crackdown, launched across the country including Swabi, his father-in-law, Ajab Khan decided to take his wife and three children to Afghanistan.

He lodged a case of custody of his kids and wife in the local Court but last evening his repatriating in- laws lured his family and shifted them to the transit camp, Landi Kotal to shift them across the border.

Immediately after the kidnapping incident, he traced his family in Landi Kotal holding center and the timely action of the local police thwarted an attempt to abduct his children and wife to Afghanistan.

He asked the authorities to assist him in getting his kids and wife from the in-laws who were taking them to Afghanistan against their wishes.
