The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched a major operation against the notorious land-grabbing mafia linked to the Auqaf Department, successfully recovering land and property worth millions of rupees.

Following multiple complaints about illegal encroachments on Auqaf Department land in Abbottabad district, ACE conducted a thorough investigation. The inquiry confirmed that the disputed land rightfully belongs to the Auqaf Department. In a synchronised effort with district administration, police, and Auqaf officials, ACE executed a robust operation to reclaim the occupied assets.

During the operation, an illegally occupied building was recovered and returned to the Auqaf Department. In addition, approximately 3 kanals and 10 marlas of land, valued at an estimated Rs 350 million according to official revenue reports, were also retrieved from the encroachers. The authorities further reclaimed an empty plot that was occupied by residents, which has now been handed over to the Manager of the Auqaf Department.

Moreover, the Assistant Commissioner of Abbottabad promptly sealed five shops in the vicinity during the operation, with the support of the anti-corruption team, in a bid to deter further encroachments.
