ISLAMABAD: Lahore Qalandars have signed a key player from South Africa to their team in preparation for the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The team has signed 29-year-old wicket-keeper batsman Robin Herman directly. The signing of the new player was announced by the Qalandars on their social media handles, and they stated, “Gloves ready, bat ready, Robin Herman joins Lahore Qalandars.”
Herman has played seven Twenty20 International matches for South Africa, scoring 153 runs, with one half-century. He has also played 65 T20 matches for his domestic and franchise team, scoring 1,497 runs, with one century and eight half-centuries.
He has also played for the Pearl Royals in the SA20 League in South Africa, scoring 559 runs in 21 matches. The upcoming 11th season of the PSL, starting from March 26 to May 3, will benefit the Lahore Qalandars as they will get advantages from their new player, who will enhance their batting lineup.
The final list of players for the team now includes Shaheen Shah Afridi (captain), Abdullah Shafiq, Sikandar Raza, Mumtaz-ur-Rehman, Fakhar Zaman, and Robin Herman.
PSL 11: Rawalpindi franchise announces team name ‘Pindiz’
Earlier, the new Rawalpindi franchise in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League has officially announced its team name as ‘Pindiz’.
Wali Tech acquired the franchise for PKR 2.45 billion at the auction which displayed the former Multan Sultans. The franchise maintained its existing team organization but the owners opted to switch the city connection from Multan to Rawalpindi.
A 25-second video on social media introduced the team name through its display of Rawalpindi’s famous landmarks with accompanying cheerful music. The video caption read:
“The official name of the Rawalpindi team is now ‘Pindiz’. We face our opponents without fear while we bring fresh power to the game.
The franchise has also announced that the team logo will be unveiled soon.
The PSL 11 tournament will occur from March 26 to May 3 2026 and fans have started to anticipate the event.
The Pakistan Cricket Board reopened team bidding after Ali Khan Tareen refused to extend his 10-year ownership agreement for the former Multan Sultans.
