KURRAM: Militants attacked a police checkpost in Kurram on Sunday, triggering an exchange of heavy fire between the two sides, officials said.
According to initial reports, both militants and security personnel used heavy weapons during the clash. Police said additional force had been called in to the area to control the situation.
Early information suggested that two militants were killed in the encounter, while three police personnel sustained injuries. The wounded were shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Security has been tightened in the area as authorities continue efforts to clear the vicinity and assess the situation.
