PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Science and Information Technology, Dr Shafqat Ayaz, has said that the provincial government’s revolutionary project E-Basta has entered its final stages, which will bring a digital revolution to the education system of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This project will not only provide educational facilities to students but will also offer parents and teachers a platform to directly monitor students’ performance.
Dr Shafqat Ayaz stated that in the past, children had to carry heavy school bags, which increased both physical and mental stress. However, the E-Basta initiative will free students from this burden. Every student will be provided with a modern tablet containing all textbooks, lessons, lectures, and educational content. This tablet will be strictly limited to educational purposes, and no unnecessary or non-academic material will be accessible on it. In this way, students will remain fully focused on their studies.
He added that the role of parents has been given special importance in this project. Each tablet will be equipped with a parental monitoring system, through which parents will be able to track their children’s academic activities. Parents will see how much time their child has spent on each subject, which lectures were attended, and how well the preparation is progressing. Parents will also have the facility to take tests directly through the tablet and review the results. This feature will create a stronger educational bond between parents and children and will give parents peace of mind that their children are utilising their time productively.
Dr Shafqat Ayaz further said that the E-Basta project will also be a great convenience for teachers. Teachers will be able to assign homework and assignments online, assess student preparation, and access instant reports of student performance. This system will allow teachers to analyse the progress of each student individually, identify weaknesses, and provide guidance accordingly. As a result, the individual performance of students will improve, and the overall quality of education will rise significantly.
Highlighting another key aspect, he said that the project will promote digital literacy among the youth. In today’s world, where technology is rapidly becoming a part of every aspect of life, it has become essential to prepare children to adapt to modern tools and platforms. The E-Basta initiative will not only provide convenience in education but also prepare students for the demands of the digital future.
Dr Shafqat Ayaz emphasised that E-Basta is not just a project but a philosophy. It demonstrates the government’s commitment to transforming education from a traditional burden into a modern facility. When children become familiar with technology, they will be more inclined towards research, innovation, and creative thinking – the foundation of a developed society.
He added that this initiative is part of the vision of Chairman Imran Khan and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur. Imran Khan has always stressed empowering the youth through education and technology to make Pakistan a modern, self-reliant, and developed country. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is practically implementing this vision by putting the province on the path of digital progress.
Dr Shafqat Ayaz remarked that the time has come for the nation to abandon outdated educational methods and prepare the new generation in such a way that they can compete in the global arena. The E-Basta project is a solid step in this direction. If this model is successfully implemented, it will become a role model not only for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but for the entire country.

This is the very change that will lead Khyber Pakhtunkhwa towards a modern and brighter future.
