The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Wildlife Department has banned hunting of birds in 57 places for the 2025-26 waterfowl hunting season.

The ban on hunting of waterfowl will be in effect until December 31, 2025. The Sindh cabinet has banned hunting of birds for one year. Birds will not be hunted in Bashqar Lake, Swat River and other places. The provincial department said that the purpose of the ban on hunting of waterfowl is to protect biodiversity.

Action will be taken against those who hunt waterfowl illegally.Licensed persons will be allowed to hunt waterfowl. License holders will not be allowed to hunt more than five ducks and waterfowl per day. The bird population will be monitored by wildlife department staff.
