PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a new recruitment policy for government jobs in 2026 which includes significant changes to the hiring process.

The new policy eliminates all work experience points which used to be given to candidates. The previous practice of granting candidates additional points according to their work experience has been discontinued to create equal chances for all candidates.

The practice of awarding extra points based on academic qualifications through division (First, Second or Third) has been eliminated. This change aims to make the recruitment process more transparent and merit-based.

The new policy gives greater importance to written exams and academic performance. According to the government’s official documents, candidates will receive 70 points for academic qualifications 20 points for the written test and 10 points for the interview. The interview will assess candidates through tests of their personality traits and level of self-assurance and their professional abilities.

The officials said the new policy aims to set recruitment procedures that meet modern standards and use merit-based methods to produce clear results. The government believes this approach will provide better opportunities for capable and skilled individuals to secure government jobs.

The new policy will establish uniform recruitment procedures throughout government departments, which will assess candidates based only on their educational background and their assessment results.
