PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam stated that the flood relief measures implemented by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government have prompted a response from the Punjab government.
He mentioned that a relief package of Rs 2 million has been allocated for flood victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the Punjab government has not provided any assistance in this regard.
Additionally, Rs 500,000 has been set aside for those injured among the flood victims, and the Punjab government has not made any announcements concerning this matter. Aslam noted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is providing Rs 15,000 to each affected family for ration support, whereas the Punjab government has not made any arrangements.
Both provinces have established a relief package of Rs 1 million for completely destroyed houses. However, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced compensation of Rs 300,000 for partially destroyed houses, while Punjab has set aside Rs 500,000 for those same houses.
Furthermore, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is offering Rs 500,000 as compensation for flood-affected shops, with no announcements from Punjab in this regard. They are also providing Rs 100,000 for houses filled with sand due to flooding, while Punjab has not allocated any funds for this issue.
Muzammil Aslam indicated that the cabinet is expected to soon approve compensation for livestock lost in the floods. Additionally, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government plans to introduce an agricultural package for crops damaged by the flood. In comparison, the Punjab government has only announced an agricultural package of Rs 20,000.

Aslam concluded by stating that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has invested significantly in helping flood victims, while the Punjab government continues to delay its decisions on this important matter.
