PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police on Friday ordered the transfer and posting of two senior officers in the public interest, with immediate effect.
According to a notification issued by the Central Police Office, the transfers were made under subsection (4) of Section 18 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Act, 2017, in the exercise of powers conferred upon the Provincial Police Officer (PPO).
As per the notification, Ms Resham Jehangir, ASP (BS-17), who was serving as Acting Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Nowshera, has been posted as SP Faqirabad, City Police Peshawar (CCP). She will assume the new assignment on her own pay and scale.
Similarly, Mr Mohammad Arshad Khan, DSP (BS-17), previously posted as Acting SP Faqirabad, Peshawar, has been transferred and posted as Acting SP Operations, Karak, also in his own pay and scale.
The notification stated that the transfers had taken effect immediately. However, no further details regarding the reasons for the reshuffle were shared.
Police officials said such postings and transfers are part of routine administrative measures aimed at improving operational efficiency and strengthening law enforcement across the province.
