PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have issued new orders to enhance security arrangements for sensitive installations, police lines, Chinese residents, and other foreign nationals.
This decision followed a meeting chaired by IG Police Zulfiqar Haider, during which participants reviewed recent terrorist incidents, intelligence-based operations, the activities of banned organisations, and measures taken against declared criminals, as well as the security of sensitive locations.
The IGP emphasised the police’s commitment to combating terrorism through professional skills, modern technology, and public cooperation. He instructed that search and strike operations, as well as combing and intelligence-sharing initiatives, be made more effective across all districts.
Additionally, the meeting discussed plans to gradually expand the services of Police Facilitation Centers from the district level to the tehsil level, ensuring transparency in service delivery and streamlined administration. The Police Chief also issued directives for the timely completion of ongoing police infrastructure projects and prioritised the repair, renovation, and beautification of older buildings. He stressed that the quality of construction for these facilities should not be compromised.
