PESHAWAR (Muhammad Ijaz Afridi): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police on Monday carried out a significant reshuffle of its senior officers across the province, following approval from the Honourable Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi.
A notification was issued in this regard by the KP police chief’s office. The Provincial Police Officer, exercising powers under the KP Police Act 2017 (amended 2024), issued the transfer and posting orders with immediate effect, citing public interest as the primary reason.
Among the changes, Mr Zulfiqar Ali Tanoli, previously serving as AIG HR & MDs KP, has been attached to the office of the CPO Peshawar, while Mr Sanaullah, who had been awaiting posting, has been assigned to oversee security arrangements for worship places for minorities. Mr Tariq Habib, also awaiting posting, has been appointed as AIG IAB KP in his own pay and scale, and Mr Muhammad Maroof, formerly AIG IAB, has been placed at the disposal of the Additional IGP Special Branch for further assignment.
Similarly, Mr Abdus Samad has moved from SP Investigation in Hangu to serve as District Police Officer in Tank, while Mr Muhammad Asif, previously awaiting posting, has taken charge as AIG HR KP MDs. Mr Shabir Hussain Shah, formerly District Police Officer in Tank, has been attached to CPO Peshawar, and Mr Ishaq Gul has been promoted from SP Legal Branch to AIG Legal at the CPO office.
Officials emphasised that the reshuffle reflects the provincial government’s efforts to strengthen police administration, improve operational efficiency, and ensure better public service throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
