PESHAWAR: The Public Health Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has dismissed the Chief Engineer, Centre Public Health Peshawar Region, who had allegedly appointed Operator-cum-watchman as a sub-engineer and has directed him to report to the Public Health Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, immediately.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Health Department has issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.

According to the notification, Chief Engineer, Centre Public Health Peshawar Region, Engineer Muhammad Yousuf has been removed from his office and has been directed to report to the Public Health Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Chief Engineer North, Engineer Muhammad Amjad Shamsher has been given the additional charge of Chief Engineer Centre Public Health Peshawar Region.

Former Chief Engineer Centre Engineer Muhammad Yousuf had granted Operator-cum-watchman the charge of a technical post like a sub-engineer.

The appointment of a watchman at the position of sub-engineer has been widely criticised on Social Media, terming it an example of poor governance in the province.

The Public Health Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has also sought an explanation from him on this move.

It is said that after seeking clarification, the Chief Engineer Centre Public Health Department, Peshawar Region, Muhammad Yousuf, was transferred. He was also directed to report to the public health department.
