PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government organised a multi-party joint Jirga has decided to adopt a joint plan to combat terrorism in the province irrespective of political affiliation.
The multi-party and stakeholder Amn Jirga comprising all political parties of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa concluded successfully on Wednesday, with participants agreeing on a joint action plan to combat terrorism in the province.
According to sources, the government and opposition parties strongly condemned terrorism and resolved to use all available means within the framework of law to eliminate the menace.
The Jirga participants emphasised the need to prioritise strategy over politics on security-related issues and continue their cooperation with the law enforcement agencies.
Chief Minister said the government would fully implement the suggestions presented by the jirga to eradicate terrorism from the province at any cost.
The jirga also urged political leaders who are part of the current federal government to extend their support to the provincial government in addressing the problems faced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
