PESHAWAR (Salman Yousafzai): The Higher Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has officially notified a new duty roster and energy conservation policy for its staff, following a provincial cabinet decision made on March 9.
Effective immediately, these measures apply to the Higher Education, Archives, and Libraries Departments to reduce power consumption while maintaining administrative efficiency.
The new regulations mandate that 50 per cent of the workforce in most departments remain physically present in the office, while the remaining staff are required to be available online or on-call.
In certain sections, officials will rotate on a weekly basis to further minimise energy usage. Specific protocols have been established for various wings, including administration, universities, colleges, litigation, and planning cells.
Additionally, the Director of the Higher Education Management Information System has been tasked with appointing a daily officer to oversee and facilitate online meetings. These temporary procedures will remain in force until further notice to ensure that government affairs continue smoothly under the new conservation guidelines.
