PESHAWAR (Muhammad Ijaz Afridi): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has made it mandatory for all government employees participating in the contributory pension scheme, known as the CP Fund, to register accounts with approved asset management companies. Failure to register by the specified deadline may result in the withholding of their salaries.
In a letter issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department to all administrative secretaries, it is stated that employees who do not register by the due date will be deemed non-compliant, and their monthly salaries will not be disbursed. This directive is in line with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Contributory Pension Fund Rules 2022. The CP Fund scheme applies to all government employees who were appointed or attained permanent status after June 7, 2022. However, ad-hoc and contract employees are not included in this scheme.
The letter specifies that all relevant employees must open a CP Fund account with approved asset management companies, which will be integrated into the salary payment system. Additionally, the Directorate of Federal Accounts and Budgeting System has introduced a new CP Fund module in the AG SEP system to facilitate this process.
To allow employees sufficient time to register, the Finance Department has established an interim period from February 10, 2026, to February 20, 2026, during which all employees covered by the CP Fund Rules 2022 must complete their registration. Employees who have not yet opened their accounts with approved asset management companies are urged to do so immediately via the official portal of the Finance Department or by contacting the Pension Cell.
The letter clarifies that any employee who does not register their CP Fund account by February 20, 2026, will be considered non-compliant, resulting in their salaries being withheld by the AG SEP system. The Finance Department has stated that this decision is final and that no concessions or extensions will be granted after the deadline.
Furthermore, the Finance Department has instructed all Administrative Secretaries to promptly communicate this notice to all departments, offices, and employees under their jurisdiction, ensuring compliance to avoid any disruption or administrative complications in salary payments.
