PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government cabinet on Friday approved the e-Transfer Policy 2025 for teachers in the education department, aimed at ensuring merit and transparency.
In this regard, Sohail Afridi said that this policy will promote transparency and supremacy of merit in the education sector in accordance with the vision of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Sohail Afridi further said that the e-Transfer Policy was the need of the hour so that teachers can focus on the real purpose of education.
He said there is a ban on posting and transfers in the province, and despite receiving more than 400 recommendations, none have been accepted.
The new policy has included the tenure of appointment in the existing school, student-teacher ratio and annual academic results as important indicators. In addition, disability, widowhood, separation and husband and wife appointment have also been given significant weightage in the policy.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also directed other departments to introduce a merit-based transfer policy.
He said that health and education are our top priorities, and weak departments are tantamount to playing with the future and health.

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has declared a change in public sector hiring requiring that all current and upcoming recruitments in government offices be carried out solely via the Education Testing & Evaluation Authority (ETA).
As per an announcement released by the Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperative Department of KP the new regulations entirely prohibit internal hiring and recruitment via external agencies. Departments must promptly connect all recruitment procedures with ETA.
The notification additionally mentioned that in cases of recruitment, without employing ETA prior consent must be secured from the appropriate departmental secretary. All offices have likewise been directed to collaborate with ETA concerning job postings, testing timelines and result publications.
Departments must provide a report, on how the new directives have been implemented within seven days.
The decision is part of the provincial government’s efforts to ensure transparency, fairness, and merit-based recruitment in all public sector organizations.
