PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to ground 60% of its official vehicles for two months. The administration has issued an official notification regarding this decision.
According to the details, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to reduce the usage of government vehicles by 60% due to possible pressures on petroleum supplies and foreign exchange reserves. This decision has been made to manage resources efficiently in light of regional developments. The restriction will be applicable for two months, as stated in the issued notification.
Principal accounting officers are directed to ensure strict compliance with this order. However, this restriction does not apply to police operational duties, law enforcement agencies, rescue and emergency services, and field enforcement units.
The implementation of his decision has been carried out under the supervision of the Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and a copy of the notification has been dispatched to the IG Police, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and all government departments.
It is worth mentioning here that this decision has been taken in these difficult times for the proper use of resources.
PHC implements energy-saving policy in KP judiciary
Earlier, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) has implemented the energy-saving policy decision of the National Judicial Policy Making Committee, on Thursday.
The court will operate from Monday to Thursday, with Friday to Sunday being holidays. The concerned branch for filing new cases will remain open on Friday and Saturday with limited staff.
The fuel allocation for judges has been reduced by 50%. According to a notification from the Registrar of the Peshawar High Court, a new administrative order, approved by the Chief Justice, has been issued to implement measures for energy conservation.
The notification states that the fuel allocation for judges of the Peshawar High Court has been reduced by 50%, in accordance with directives from the National Judicial Policy Making Committee.
The new working schedule will come into effect immediately for all benches of the Peshawar High Court. A new schedule has also been issued for subordinate courts, reducing the number of judges on Friday and Saturday, with instructions to the concerned Sessions Judges to implement it.
