PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has directed the immediate recruitment of teaching and supporting staff at Shangla University and the Institute of Management Sciences (IMS) Peshawar, officials said following a meeting chaired by Minister for Higher Education and Local Government Meena Khan Afridi.
The meeting discussed the staffing needs of Shangla University, IMS Peshawar, and Bacha Khan University Charsadda. Minister Afridi emphasised rationalising the recruitment process at Shangla University and increasing student enrollment in various departments according to the agreed formula. She also instructed that security and financial positions at Shangla University be outsourced to improve efficiency.
While consent was reached for the recruitment at IMS Peshawar, the decision regarding Bacha Khan University Charsadda was postponed, with officials advised to present a more detailed plan in the next meeting.
The KP government has underlined that the recruitment process at Shangla University and IMS Peshawar should be completed without delay to ensure smooth academic operations.
