PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan, has strongly reacted to the recent statement of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, stating that criticising Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on the day of the suicide attack at the Peshawar Federal Constabulary (FC) Headquarters is extremely unfortunate and inappropriate.

He said that on such a tragic day, instead of a blame game, there should have been unity and sympathy.
Shafi Jan further said that a suicide attack at a highly sensitive location in Peshawar resulted in the martyrdom and injury of FC personnel. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohaib Afridi, suspended all official engagements and visited the injured in the hospital and attended the funeral prayers of the martyrs. In contrast, Punjab Chief Minister chose unnecessary political criticism instead of expressing solidarity with the provincial government and people, which is highly disappointing.
Commenting on the statement of the Punjab Chief Minister, he said that her politics begins with blame and ends in hatred. , he added, The reality is that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is on the frontline in the war against terrorism and is fulfilling its responsibilities with utmost dedication.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister also expressed disappointment over the attitude of the federal government, stating that NFC Award, Net Hydel Profit, and other provincial dues are still not being released, severely affecting administrative and development affairs of the province. He said that the mandate of people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is being targeted under a well-planned strategy.
Highlighting the provincial government’s efforts for peace, Shafi Jan said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government initiated the Peace Jirga to promote unity and consensus, which received full support from all political parties. He added that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf firmly believes in the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law and will continue its struggle for public rights.
He further stated that, under the guidance and vision of Chairman Imran Khan – and the leadership of Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi – the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will continue its political and public struggle with full strength.
