PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi on Tuesday notified more tehsils in two different districts of the province, which aim at better governance.

Two different notifications were issued by the KP Chief Minister’s House, stating that a new tehsil has been created in the Charsadda district, for which the tehsil Charsadda was bifurcated into two tehsils.

It said that a new tehsil has been created with the name Tehsil Umarzai. The CM notification said that the decision was taken in the best interest of the public and to foster governance in the region.

Another tehsil has been created in the Lower Dir district, which was announced by the Chief Minister Sohail Afridi during a public gathering on Monday.

The notification mentioned that a new tehsil was added in the name of tehsil Talash in the Lower Dir district, which was a prolonged demand of the local inhabitants.

Also on the day, CM KP promised the construction of a multi-storey building at the Timergara Teaching Hospital and a sports complex for the local youth, which will be equipped with modern sports facilities.
