PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), on the directives of the Chief Minister, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, has instructed all provincial ministers and advisors to hold regular e-open courts in their respective departments to ensure direct public access and strengthen trust in government institutions.
According to an official letter issued by the government on Sunday, it has been decided that monthly e-open courts will be organised across 23 departments along with their 69 attached, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions. The initiative aims to provide citizens with direct access to concerned authorities and ensure the timely resolution of their complaints.
The move has been introduced under the “Awam Ka Ehsaas” framework, making it mandatory for departments to address public grievances transparently and efficiently. The performance of the departments will also be reviewed quarterly to ensure accountability and effective service delivery.
The Chief Minister has further directed administrative secretaries, heads of attached formations and field officers to commence regular e-open courts from March 1. A special awareness session regarding the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the e-open courts will be held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat to ensure smooth implementation.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi described open courts as a key strategy for strengthening public communication and promoting good governance. He emphasised that e-open courts would serve as an effective platform for ensuring transparency, impartiality and prompt redressal of public issues, with immediate action to be taken at both administrative and policy levels.
