PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Monday imposed a ban on posting and transfers within the education department. The decision was taken after a departmental review.

According to the notification issued by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department, in pursuance of the departmental review meeting held under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has imposed a complete ban on all postings and transfers of teaching cadre, both male and female, in the ESE department.

The notification mentioned that there will be a complete ban on postings and transfers in the department. However, appointments through the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPSC), promotions through PSB and DPC, Court cases and awaiting posting will be exempted from this ban.

It also noted that the department is going to launch E-Posting and transfer policy wherein a separate portal shall be available for posting and transfer during summer and winter vacations.

KP govt takes a major decision on posting and transfers and lifted the ban on posting and transfers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on grade 17 and above.

According to the details, the ban on appointments, transfers, and recruitments of government employees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been lifted. This ban was imposed by the Chief Minister due to the non-formation of the cabinet; however, after the formation of the cabinet, this ban has now been lifted. According to the Chief Minister’s directives, transfers on posts of Grade 17 and above will be made with the permission of the concerned Administrative Secretary, Minister, Advisor, or Special Assistant. Apart from this, the ban on recruitments has also been lifted, and all recruitments will be made according to the principle of merit.

In this regard, senior police officer Muhammad Ali Gandapur has been posted as Additional IG Elite Force Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the grade 20 post, while Muhammad Hussain has been posted as DIG Crime and Investigation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat has directed that merit and transparency should be ensured in appointments, transfers, and recruitments, and the instructions should be strictly implemented.
