PESHAWAR: Provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has geared up to expand the motorway network to D.I Khan and DIR.
A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi reviewed the progress of the province’s three major flagship projects; Swat Motorway Phase II, DI Khan Motorway and Dir Motorway in detail. The Chief Minister directed to start construction work on Swat Motorway Phase II immediately and said that technical issues should be resolved without delay.
A major decision regarding the Dir Motorway has come out in the meeting, under which it will be constructed entirely with provincial resources.
On the other hand, the 365-km long DI Khan Motorway and Swat Motorway Phase II will be completed under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. According to the briefing Long highway will be from Chakdara to Fatehpur, on which 9 interchanges and seven bridges.
