PESHAWAR (Muhammad Ijaz Afridi) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has banned the use of high-octane fuel in all government vehicles, aiming to implement austerity plan.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administrative Affairs Department issued a formal notification in this regard on Tuesday, which states that the ban on high-octane fuel was imposed in view of the recent increase in fuel prices.
According to the notification issued, the ban decision will come into effect immediately. The notification states that high-octane fuel will not be used in any government vehicle.
It further noted that the government has clarified that if, in an unavoidable situation, the use of high-octane fuel is necessary, the concerned officer or user will use it from his personal pocket, it will not be paid for from the government treasury.
The notification further states that all principal accounting officers and heads of institutions have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the decision.
