PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has awarded Rs 64 million worth of scholarships among 347 students from across the province.

A grand ceremony was held in this regard at the Chief Minister’s House on Monday. Chief Minister KP, Sohail Afridi, also announced an additional Rs 300 million in funds for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Foundation.

Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister said that students are the future of the country and the province and investing in them is the top priority of the government.

He said that market-oriented subjects are being introduced in the education system so that students not only get jobs after graduation but also become self-employed.

The Chief Minister also announced the launch of an internship program so that students do not remain unemployed at the end of their education and can gain practical experience.

He added that all policies will be in the interest of the people, and the government is trying to provide better governance.

Provincial Minister Meena Khan Afridi, officials of the Higher Education Department, heads of universities and students also attended the ceremony.
