PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Shahab Ali Shah has announced the top-performing deputy commissioners and secretaries who delivered excellently in their respective areas.

There has been a significant improvement in the delivery of public services at the district level in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Based on the performance indicators, Deputy Commissioner Swabi Nasrullah was declared the best performer, while Deputy Commissioner Malakand Fayyaz Sherpao was ranked second. Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Rao Hashim and Deputy Commissioner Lakki Marwat Hameedullah were ranked third.

Director General of Elementary and Secondary Education Monitoring Authority Sohail Khan has been appreciated for effective monitoring and performance.

The performance of departments playing a prominent role in the Good Governance Roadmap was also appreciated. Secretary Local Government Zafarul Islam, Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Khalid, Secretary Tourism Saadat Hassan, and Secretary Agriculture Anbar Ali Khan were felicitated for their reform initiatives. All the awardees will be given certificates of appreciation, and the best-performing officers will also be given awards.

24 anti-encroachment operations were conducted during the last week. To improve urban management, priority is being given to cleaning drains and waterways, while steps are also being taken to control the prices of food items. In view of this month of Ramadan, Deputy Commissioners are ensuring timely arrangements for the supply of essential commodities and price control.

Agreements for the outsourcing of 500 government schools are likely to be finalized by February 15, while outsourcing agreements for 34 out of 72 hospitals will be finalized by February 26. Outsourcing aims to improve the performance of these schools and hospitals.

Under the provincial cashless action plan, a target has been set to digitize 84 public services by February, of which 73 have been completed. Sewerage and sanitation arrangements have been ensured in 478 hotels and restaurants to improve cleanliness and environmental quality at tourist destinations.
