The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a subsidy on petrol for motorcyclists.
To protect the public from the effects of petrol bombs, relief will be given to registered motorcyclists in the province. Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said that two instalments of Rs 1,100, Rs 1,100 will be given. For the convenience of the public, the fare of BRT will not be increased either.
Advisor to the Finance Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muzammil Aslam said that three and a half billion rupees will be spent on the subsidy. Information Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shafi Jan said that money will be given to motorcyclists on their identity cards. They will be able to get money from any digital wallet.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam, while shedding light on the financial aspects of the project, said that Rs 3.5 billion will be spent from the provincial treasury on this relief package.
In addition, another important announcement has been made for the convenience of the public that despite the increase in petrol prices, there will be no increase in the fares of BRT buses, so that students and employees who travel daily do not have to bear additional burden.
Citizens and transporters from Khyber have welcomed this decision. Locals say that after the price of petrol exceeded Rs 321, it became difficult to even ride a motorcycle, this subsidy will at least provide some support in the monthly budget.
“This step has come at a time when the inflation rate is at its highest level. Transparent transfer of money through digital wallet is a modern and positive step of the government which will reduce the chances of corruption.
