ISLAMABAD: A meeting of members of the National and Provincial Assemblies from Hazara Division was held under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi at Pakhtunkhwa House, Islamabad, where detailed consultations were conducted regarding the upcoming Annual Development Program (ADP).
During the meeting, key development priorities for Hazara Division were discussed and several major decisions and announcements were made.
The participants demanded that the federal government upgrade the Haripur–Mansehra GT Road to a two-lane highway under the management of the National Highway Authority (NHA). The provincial government also announced financial assistance for the project.
A special and comprehensive development package worth Rs200 billion was announced for Hazara Division. Additionally, the chief minister directed authorities to allocate Rs50 billion specifically for the promotion of tourism in the region.
In a significant administrative development, the chief minister announced that a notification would be issued to grant district status to Alai.
The meeting emphasised the timely completion of ongoing development projects and declared that health and education sectors would receive massive investment, with special attention to underdeveloped and backward districts.
The chief minister also instructed relevant departments to prepare PC-1 documents for all proposed projects before the formal approval of the ADP to ensure transparency and efficiency.
Addressing the participants, the chief minister stated that the upcoming fiscal year’s development program would be “different, larger, and more focused on public welfare” compared to previous years.
