PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, on Friday announced the imposition of an emergency due to the increasing demand for Nurses in the province and directed the hiring of nurses.

In a crucial meeting with the Health Department, chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi announced to impose nurses emergency in the province in view of the increasing demand for nurses.

CM KP directed to immediately recruit nurses through ETA on vacant posts and increase training facilities for nursing.
He said 650 completed slots of BS Nursing were still with the Nursing Council.
CM Sohail Afridi said a new letter should be written to the Nursing Council to obtain 650 trained nursing slots
“The process of purchasing medicines and equipment should start from January 1st; in any case, there is no room for delay,” Sohail Afridi said.
The Chief Minister directed to complete the ongoing recruitment process be completed to alleviate the shortage of doctors and specialists
and added that there will be no compromise on merit and transparency in recruitment.
The Chief Minister also directed concrete measures to control polio, dengue and malaria and to prevent dengue. Implementation of the Dengue Action Plan should be ensured.
He also ordered that the necessary steps be taken to strengthen the Health Care Commission to reduce the burden on tertiary care hospitals in Peshawar, and proposals should be made for the establishment of new multi-bed hospitals in Peshawar, Kohat and Malakand.
He said that new measures should be taken on an emergency basis according to the needs of the population.
