The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has decided to prohibit all appointments and transfers that are conducted in departmental units of the province.

It is reported from the official sources that the Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has given an order that there should be no new postings, transfers, or appointments in any government department until further notice.

This decision is being taken in the middle of political uncertainties in the province. The provincial cabinet is still to be formed. It is said that the Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has not yet met PTI Chairman Imran Khan in person for a formal discussion, due to which there is a delay in issuing the orders regarding the formation of the cabinet and other administrative matters.

In the absence of the cabinet, it was rumored that ex-ministers and some of their close advisers had been pulling the strings behind the scenes to get their favored people appointed or transferred in different departments. The new order is intended to stop the continuation of such activities and also to help in achieving transparency until a formal administrative setup is in place.
