According to policy, the provincial government has taken an important step to control the rising flour prices and wheat crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to sources, the government has implemented the Weight Release Policy 2026 to ensure an uninterrupted supply of flour, stabilize prices, and prevent hoarding, which will be implemented immediately.

Under the policy, wheat will be provided by the government to active flour mills across the province, while one lakh 36 thousand metric tons of Pasco and locally purchased wheat will also be provided to the flour mills.

According to sources, the government’s release price of wheat has been fixed at Rs 10,414 per 100 kg, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the price of a 20 kg bag of flour will now be Rs 2,190. However, the quota of wheat at the district level will be fixed on the basis of population so that fair distribution is possible in each area.
