PESHAWAR: In line with the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has intensified anti-drug operations across the province.

In a successful operation, the Excise Police Mardan Region recovered 2,000 grams of ice (crystal meth) and arrested a drug smuggler during a raid on Mardan Charsadda Road.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer (Counter Narcotics Operations) Majid Khan.

During the operation, a suspect identified as Majid, son of Umar Khan, a resident of Ring Road, Peshawar, was intercepted while riding a motorcycle without a registration number. Upon search, 2kg of ice was recovered from his possession.

The accused was arrested on the spot and a case was registered at Excise Police Station Mardan for further investigation and legal action.

SHO Imad Khan said the KP government is fully committed to eliminating drug trafficking under its zero-tolerance policy.

He added that indiscriminate action is being taken against drug dealers of all levels and their facilitators, with full support and guidance from senior officers.
