The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued new working hours for all government and private educational institutions amid cold weather and intense fog in the province.

According to the new schedule, schools in Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, and Swabi will open at 9 am. According to the schedule, the duration of classes will be reduced by five minutes to ensure the safety of students. The announcement said that this new timetable will remain in effect until the fog clears, and all schools have been directed to strictly follow it. The Education Directorate has sent the notification to all the concerned districts and school heads have been directed to ensure implementation.

This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of students so that educational activities can continue safely during the cold weather and fog. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather is expected to remain cold and dry in most parts of the country in the coming days, with severe frost likely in the northern and mountainous areas in the morning and evening.notification

According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures are likely to drop further in the districts of Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and northern Balochistan, and nights will remain very cold in many places. There is a possibility of fog or smog in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially Islamabad and its surroundings in the morning and evening, which may increase in intensity in the coming days.

Early morning fog has also been predicted in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, and Dera Ismail Khan. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of a clear improvement in the drought situation in Balochistan in the beginning of December. The agency also said that snowfall is forecast in the upper reaches of the province, which will make the weather even colder and may affect traffic and daily life in mountainous areas.

Experts have advised citizens to wear masks, avoid unnecessary outings, and avoid traveling in the morning hours.
