PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, on Friday unveiled future policy guidelines at the 41st provincial cabinet meeting.

He strongly condemned the solitary confinement of Imran Khan and his wife, describing it as a blatant injustice. The Chief Minister criticised the recent press conference held by federal ministers, labelling it inhuman, immoral, and illegal. He stated that their behaviour is provoking the public and deliberately exacerbating the situation, emphasising that Imran Khan is a leader for all of Pakistan, while his wife is a non-political figure and a veiled woman.

The provincial government has already provided a roadmap for good governance. Civil officers are encouraged to utilise modern technology to attend government meetings online, which will help reduce expenses. To ensure transparency and effective governance, all recruitment in government, autonomous, and semi-government institutions in the province will only occur through the Educational Testing Agency (ETA). No recruitment will be done through private testing agencies.

The case for the province has been presented comprehensively ahead of the National Finance Commission (NFC) meeting scheduled for tomorrow. All participants have agreed with our principled stance. It is important to note that the share of merged districts, amounting to Rs 1,375 billion, has not been included in the NFC.

The closure of the Torkham border for 55 days has severely impacted drivers, men, women, children, and the elderly. The Chief Minister has directed the Khyber district administration to provide food and all necessary facilities to those affected.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister has instructed that bulletproof vehicles be prioritised for civil officers, especially those in the district administration, and has directed that any obstacles to the purchase of these vehicles be resolved promptly.
