PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi provided modern weapons and vehicles to the provincial police during a ceremony at Police Lines Peshawar.
A ceremony was held in this regard, where Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi was the chief guest. On this occasion, 27 bulletproof vehicles, 26 jammers, 5 APC vehicles, drones and anti-drone systems, snipers and thermal weapons, and other modern equipment were handed over to the police from different districts.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said in his address that since 2022, the province has witnessed an improved security situation and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is working side by side with the Army, FC and other security agencies. Appreciating the sacrifices of the Police CTD and other security agencies, he said that peace was maintained in the province from 2018 to 2022, while after 2022, the challenges of terrorism were faced.
He said that this program can be used to gauge the seriousness of the provincial government and that these measures will be made more sustainable by formulating a policy in collaboration with the federation. The Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace in the province and enhancing the capacity of the police.
