Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi paid a surprise visit to Government Shaheed Mubeen Shah Afridi Higher Secondary School, Peshawar, where he conducted a detailed review of the academic environment and held direct interaction with the administrative and teaching staff.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that missing basic facilities in government schools would be provided on a priority basis to ensure the availability of a conducive learning environment for students.
He categorically stated that the provision of free textbooks to all students would be ensured at the very beginning of the new academic session. To further strengthen discipline in schools, the Chief Minister issued directives to the relevant authorities for the installation of CCTV cameras in all government schools.
He said that the core objective is to provide students with an educational and training environment aligned with contemporary requirements, and that the provincial government is allocating substantial resources to achieve this goal.
Emphasizing the need and importance of students’ moral development, the Chief Minister said that the government is moving towards introducing ethics as a subject in the curriculum, as education without proper training is incomplete.
He added that education, combined with character building, produces responsible, principled, and successful individuals. The Chief Minister stressed to school administrations and teaching staff to focus on quality education and to take practical steps to address existing shortcomings in government schools.
He remarked that teachers and doctors are key pillars of society, noting that teachers shape the future of children while doctors are entrusted with public health, therefore sincerity and responsibility in these professions are of fundamental importance.
During the visit, the Chief Minister advised students to move forward with hard work, focus, and a clear sense of purpose. He encouraged them to strive for excellence in whichever field they choose so that they may prove beneficial not only for themselves but also for society at large.
