PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Sunday ordered an inquiry into the blast that occurred at a police station of the counter-terrorism department (CTD) in Peshawar.
The Chief Minister’s secretariat on Sunday issued a statement indicating that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi swiftly took notice of a recent incident and requested a preliminary report from the Inspector General of Police.
The Chief Minister emphasised the need to investigate the reasons behind the incident and to enhance security measures. He insisted that security and safety protocols must be strictly adhered to to prevent such unfortunate events from occurring in the future.
Expressing deep sorrow over the martyrdom of the CTD officer who lost their life in the blast, Chief Minister Afridi directed that prayers be offered for the injured and that they receive the best possible medical treatment.
According to the spokesperson, a quick response and effective strategy helped mitigate further damage from the blast. Following the Chief Minister’s instructions, senior police officers are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident and are working to strengthen security measures to avoid similar occurrences in the future.
