BANNU: The funeral prayers for four martyrs, including Assistant Commissioner Shah Shah Wali, were held in Bannu today following their deaths in a terrorist attack. The prayers were conducted with full military and official honours, creating an atmosphere of grief and sorrow.

A large number of attendees, including senior military officials, district administration, and police personnel, paid their respects to the sacrifices made by the martyrs. Among the attendees were the GOC Miranshah, district administration officers, senior police officials, local dignitaries, and community members.

Participants prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and for patience for their families.

However, the absence of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the funeral became a major point of criticism. Many attendees expressed deep regret and anger over his lack of presence, questioning why the provincial leader, who should be at such significant events, was absent while all civilian and military leadership, including the GOC Miranshah, were able to attend without security concerns.

Public reaction on social media reflected a growing perception of the Chief Minister’s indifference to the province’s real issues and the suffering of its people. Critics argue that he appears more focused on political affiliations and loyalty to certain leadership figures than on supporting those mourning the loss of lives in the fight against terrorism.

They demanded that the Chief Minister prioritise his constitutional and moral responsibilities and demonstrate solidarity with his constituents. Critics noted that his absence not only reflects a lack of concern but also fosters a disconnect between the state and the people.
