Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi approves a Rs 1000 billion package for the Rohana Qabail program, which aims to build infrastructure, develop human resources, and provide employment opportunities.

A high-level meeting was held in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi, in which preparations for a historic development package of Rs 1,000 billion have been finalized for the development and development of the merged districts.

This comprehensive project has been named “Rohana Qabail (Bright Tribal program), which will prove to be a revolutionary step in changing the economic and social destiny of the region. It was decided in the meeting that investment will be made in 6 important thematic areas for the economic development of the merged districts, the main focus of which is to build infrastructure, develop human resources, and provide employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister has given special instructions to include the establishment of Tribal Medical College, Institute of Modern Sciences, and Digital Cities in the package. It has also been ordered that the districts and tehsils where DHQ and THQ hospitals are not available should be established under this package.

Paying special attention to the education and health sectors, the Chief Minister has directed to increase their share be increased significantly. Under the package, 1245 new primary schools will be established in the merged districts, while 463 primary and 85 middle schools will be upgraded. In addition, the rehabilitation of 975 primary, 240 middle, and 125 high schools, the recruitment of 11500 new teachers, and various scholarships for students are also part of this project. The functioning of health centers and the establishment of telemedicine centers in district headquarters hospitals will also be ensured.

Rescue 1122 stations, orphanages, and shelters will be established in every tehsil to provide public facilities. A sports complex will be constructed in every district for the youth, and a sports ground will be constructed in every tehsil. The Chief Minister has also directed to include the entry and exit routes of markets and merged districts in the Safe City Project and to convert all schools, health centers, and markets to solar energy.

During the briefing, it was informed that the package also includes comprehensive measures for road infrastructure, check dams, irrigation systems, provision of clean drinking water, and industrial development. Along with increasing the share of sectors like STIT, social welfare, and energy, special attention will also be paid to institutional capacity, better governance, and effective service delivery so that the dream of inclusive development in the tribal areas can be realized through cross-sectoral reforms.
