PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, has announced told hold a peace Jirga on October 25 in his home district, Khyber, while opposing the centre’s decision.
Newly elected Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, announced that a peace jirga will be held in Khyber district on October 25 to promote peace in the province.
In a statement released on the social networking platform X, Afridi stated that a large peace jirga, comprising tribal elders, leaders, and youth, will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in Tehsil Bara, Khyber district. He emphasised that this jirga will be independent of political affiliations.

Afridi highlighted the importance of prioritising the wishes of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in decision-making regarding provincial affairs. He asserted that the residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should have the authority to shape their own lives and future, insisting that no one will be allowed to impose decisions made behind closed doors on them.
Furthermore, Sohail Afridi stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will support Imran Khan’s ideology and prioritise the interests of the people.
