PESHAWAR (Muhammad Ijaz Afridi) Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Finance, Muzammil Aslam, has welcomed the approval of the Ramazan cash relief package in the 47th provincial cabinet meeting, stating that the initiative reflects the vision of PTI founder Imran Khan and Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi.
Speaking after the cabinet meeting, Muzammil Aslam said that this year, around 1.063 million low-income individuals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will benefit from the Ramazan package. He added that the provincial government will provide an average of Rs12,500 per family to support them during the holy month.
He recalled that in Ramazan 2024, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had introduced a Rs10,000 per family relief package. According to him, other provinces, including Punjab, followed a similar model in 2025.
The finance adviser said that due to rising inflation, the chief minister increased this year’s Ramazan package by 25 per cent to provide greater relief to deserving families.
Muzammil Aslam termed the initiative a reflection of a “people-friendly government,” adding that it highlights the difference between what he called a public mandate and a “Form 47 government.”
