PESHAWAR: Adviser to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr Saif, has said that in line with the vision of Imran Khan, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has taken another revolutionary step.
Following the Billion Tree Tsunami, under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, a project for the restoration of wildlife has been launched, making Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the first province to introduce a re-wilding initiative.
As part of the project, different species of deer have been released into the forests of Kohat, which are being monitored through drone technology. Local communities and wildlife officials are also engaged in continuous monitoring. Barrister Dr Saif stated that the fruits of the Billion Tree Tsunami are now evident in the form of the return of wildlife. He added that this project will pave the way for the restoration of other species and will serve as a milestone in maintaining ecological balance.
He further said that Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur is committed to implementing Imran Khan’s vision. Highlighting the background, he noted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government launched the Billion Tree Tsunami in 2014 to address climate change, and its long-term results are now becoming visible. Following the successful restoration and expansion of forests, the provincial government under CM Ali Amin Gandapur has now practically realised another vision of Imran Khan through the launch of a wildlife restoration and reintroduction project.
