PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Sunday arrested a senior doctor over dual employment after an investigation against him. Doctor Tufail is a faculty member at Khyber Medical College, Peshawar.
According to a statement issued by the government of KP, the investigation revealed that Dr Tufail was simultaneously employed by UNICEF and the Department of Community Medicine at Khyber Medical College. He reportedly received financial incentives from both institutions since January 2023.
Following the findings, the Anti-Corruption Khyber Pakhtunkhwa registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Dr Tufail and subsequently arrested him. Authorities stated that the action was taken to uphold transparency and accountability within public institutions.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment has vowed to continue its strict monitoring to prevent misuse of public resources and ensure that officials adhere to employment regulations.
