Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agriculture University scraps 55 posts due to severe financial difficulties, which have made the salaries and pensions of teachers and employees a major challenge.

The growing financial crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has put government universities under severe pressure, in view of which the provincial government has taken important decisions under the austerity policy and eliminated 55 vacancies in the Agriculture University, while details of vacancies have also been sought from all other universities.

According to sources, this move is part of the efforts to reduce expenses and overcome the financial crisis, under which, in the first phase, 55 vacancies of support staff have been eliminated in the Agriculture University. Officials say that in the next phase, vacancies will also be eliminated in other government universities.

According to further information, various government universities in the province are currently facing severe financial difficulties, where payment of salaries and pensions of teachers and employees has also become a major challenge. This situation has also started affecting educational activities. Sources say that the government is considering proposals not only to eliminate vacant posts but also to eliminate some academic departments from universities.

In this regard, details of students studying in the current departments have also been sought so that these aspects can be taken into account in future decisions. According to sources, a few departments have already been eliminated in Peshawar University, while the elimination of more departments is also being seriously considered.
