PESHAWAR: The Accountability Court in Peshawar has made a breakthrough in the ongoing Kohistan financial scandal case, confirming the freezing of assets belonging to multiple accused individuals.

According to the NAB (National Accountability Bureau) special prosecutor, the court upheld the decision to freeze the assets of six designated accused and two benami (proxy) individuals. The prosecutor informed the court that the accused owns immovable properties, which needed to be frozen during the investigation to ensure a thorough probe into potential financial irregularities.

It was also revealed that on February 24, the director general of NAB had issued orders to freeze these assets. After hearing the arguments, the court confirmed the DG NAB’s orders, and NAB’s request was accepted. As per the court’s ruling, the frozen assets will remain blocked until the completion of the investigation.

Investigations into the Kohistan financial scandal are ongoing, with NAB officials continuing to gather evidence and examine possible financial misconduct related to the case.
