The United Students Front of Kohat University protested against online classes and demanded the provision of Internet facilities in Kohat University.
Their position is that online classes are being started, but students are facing difficulties due to a lack of internet facilities in the university and the hostels. As a result, students are unable to attend classes and their academic performance is being affected. According to the front, the benefits of online education are not possible unless students get better internet facilities, as most students are not provided with proper internet connections in university buildings or hostels. Due to this, students face difficulty in accessing the class materials, which disrupts the educational process.
There is a lack of traditional teaching methods in online classes, which is hurting the creative thinking and learning experience of students. The traditional teaching environment of the university, where students interact with each other and ask questions directly to the teachers, has disappeared in online classes. This is having an impact on the overall academic progress of the students. The protest by the university students has also demanded that the university administration provide internet facilities so that the students can fully participate in the online classes. In addition, the students have also suggested traditionally holding the classes, so that their creative skills can be better developed.
If this issue is not resolved, the students have threatened to launch further protest actions, so that their rights can be protected and the quality of education can be improved.
